Business Spanish

This video helps one learn the basics of business Spanish. This is crucial in working in the corporate world. I thought it would be good to know considering I am taking Consumer Finance right now so much of the phrases refer to things in my other class. That is to be expected in a Liberal Arts education. The English translation of the phrases in the video are:
  1. We have a new contract with the company.
  2. There was a board meeting.
  3. The chairmen of the board addressed the members.
  4. We do business with the Japanese.
  5. The market has shrunk.
  6. The headcount has reached one thousand.
  7. We have hired new personel.
  8. We didn’t reach any agreement.
  9. The shareholders held a meeting.
  10. Our goal is to increase billing by 20%.
  11. The profit margin went up by .05%.
  12. The revenue was 2 million dollars.
  13. The fiscal year ends in December.
  14. The stock market was shaken by financial problems.
  15. We must increase our market share.
  16. In the presentation we will use graphs and statistics.
  17. This is a management level decision.
  18. We were welcomed by the top management personel in the company.
  19. We need to find an advisor/counselor.
  20. He is an external consultant.
  21. I was promoted to manager.
  22. It is diffivult to find a good assistant.
  23. The company has more than 120 employees.
  24. I’d like to find a clerk position.

It would be beneficial in the long run to memorize and practice these phrases until I know them by heart. You never know when they will come in handy! This is especially true because I want to immerse myself in Spanish culture and language in case I ever get to return to Ecador and for ministry purposes.
